Alright, let us correct that to – Guruji launches world’s first Tamil and Malayalam search engine. I know it may sound a bit pompous but we can barely curtail our excitement about taking our next step towards making the internet more usable (and searchable) for the Indian internet users.
The Tamil and Malayalam search engines are available at –

You can input your search query either through the on-screen keyboard or phonetically using your computer keyboard.
We will continue to invest in bettering the way we understand Indian language search queries as well as the way in which we gather Indian language content from the World Wide Web.

Hi Shiva, Thanks for visiting the Guruji blog. If you look at the URL closely (http://in.malayalam.yahoo.com), you would observe that its a Malayalam language portal. Even though there is a search box on the portal, it doesn't allow you to search in Malayalam (at least, not as of now). So, we would like to retain the title :-). Thanks once again for visiting us. Hi...
The other day i wanted to demonstrate your Hindi search to a new-comer to the internet and i couldn't. this was because that PC didnt have a language pack or something... so we switched computers twice after that, but of no avail. installed language packs are rare. therefore severely limiting the scope of this wonderful service.
can anything be done about this?

Hi Guruji Team,
When i visit the Tamil search engine, it tells me that the onscreen keyboard is not available for browsers other than IE at present. You are losing out atleast 42% of the visitors(http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp) that way. Instead, once you detect a request coming from Mozilla, you could suggest the users to use "Tamilkey"(http://tamilkey.mozdev.org/). That way you would lose only 3.4% of the users.
