great start but why this slowdown.seems nothing new is happening.keep on adding features, advertise more .there are many other indian specific search engines in the race.hurry up or you may be the loser.speed up speed up fast faster fastest.it is a time game.many are working on the same idea.an idea stinks if it is delayed.there is a very thin line between success and failure.your idea is brilliant but you need quick implementation.you need much more advertising and brand building.it is not the time to sit back and relax.take timely action.add something to guruji each day.a wiser person is a person who spends one rupee and earns ten in return.are you a wiser or a miser.want lyrics on guruji from me.how much will you pay me per song.

Hi,
I have mailed my work (ppt and doc) on a search engine which was document oriented and not page rank oriented. But I believe that both this can be intergrated to provide a better search. Also including ontological search like, when I give a query for "roti", I should also get search results for "naan", "tandoori" etc. I think you get the idea. This way people would be able to explore the domain and help them specify their search query in a better way.
Hoping to hear from you soon
Thanks.

Some random thoughts on search:
User needs relevant informational results than where all the search term occurs. Its engine's responsibilty to reliably list such high-quality content results.
Each search term may have a different intention and expectation behind it. Contextual meaning of search term comes.
From Search term: "stock" I may mean
1) inventory stock
2) stock market
3) dictionary meaning
but then is it user's responsibility to provide complete search term ? how else engine knows what user intends to find.
Localized usual intention for some terms , like woolmer means bob woolmer when suddenly num of hits you receive jump on some news on woolmer.
but how to recognize what for these hits have jumped ? feedback from user ? how ?
User queries from india will probably not mean bird named "cricket" when they type "cricket" as search string but cricket as sport.
When a search engine wants to cater to indian user, it does not mean all of the relevant content such user is interested in lies on indian websites only.
It means content in indian context, basically delivering what he really wants.
Many techniques will be heuristics based on user search experience and what is desired, to rank such page up which is more relevant.
Now that depends on our own proprietary analysis algorithms.
1) search term occurs in n number of pages.
2) to decide which of them really pertain to the context addressed by this search term.
3) filter those pages. decide which of them have better content quality based on frequency of term occuring in them, locality, *other similar terms* near or at particular locations to the searched term( here comes intuitive and creative algorithm work ).
4) how many pages endorse a particular page. to how many such pages it back links. how many number of pages this domain hosts.
reputation of citation pages, of this domain, structure of the page, type of page/domain i.e categorical classification, whether it is a dedicated say, sports site, is it a e-com site selling sports goods, is it a sports blog, is it an authoritative info site, is it offical, is it hosted by a company or indiviual ( here comes the experience and usuality in selecting which type of site may be or usually is more useful in context of current search term ).
5) weeding out broken links, number of hits to this site, its sticking to the purpose its meant for ( these things can be set as tags in meta info , type of site, owner, country, category, text/graphics % content. )
6) Efficient indexing (computation of pageranks) and efficient storage (compression and eliminating redundancy) and then fast retrieval of results.
Ultimate aim is to provide satisfying and most useful result for minimal length of search term.

Dear Team Guruji,
Since Guruji is the Indian Search Engine, it would be ideal to have the link to the National Portal in the home page.
This would not only promote the National Portal but also create an awareness to Indian Citizens who use Guruji.

All the Best.
